Internationalized Shogi Pieces

I uploaded another video in my new video series: "Online Amateur Shogi Games Showcase". This entire series will be made with the International pieces.

I've made a piece set for making a diagram with my internationalized design.



Replace this file with "Pieces.pgn" in "DiagramTiny" theme in BCM-Shogi folder. (If you want to keep the original Kanji pieces, rename the original file before overwriting.)
You can use this piece set to make diagrams that you wanna put on your blog etc. (Below is the example)

Oh wow, these are great, Hidetchi! I hadn't even thought of using them in diagrams like this. Wonderful idea.

And I noticed hirohiigo and xDAZZE's avatars have turned to King and Gold! They're cool. The coloring and the shading are excellent. Good job!

OK. I couldn't help doing it myself, too.
The king and the gold are used, so I'm gonna use the silver.

Is mine too big? Lol. Anyways, this is great. You should make 1 video of "How to Play Shogi -- International Piece Edition" video.

Just title it How to Play Shogi (将棋) - Lesson #41: International Piece-Set Edition or something.

Yeah, after viewing your avatar on a computer at my school, it gets cut off on this one. Maybe I should make it a little bit smaller instead. I'll do that when I get home and send it to you via PM.

Maybe I should start making colored promoted silver for takodori-san's avatar, although I don't know if he'll want it :-)
I'll make it with the same color as my silver, plus yellow pendant as in hirohiigo's gold general.

Or maybe a Knight, since Takodori-san's picture on his Twitter is the Knight.

So I started making REAL internationalized shogi pieces. You can check out the progress in my blog here:

I've came up with a new design of Horse substituting the current one.
I've just made a rough drawing of it, but you can see it below.
My question is, "Which do you like better?"

I made it so that the wing looks larger.
And the wing happens to be resembling the shape of Bishop's Hat, which can remind us that it's a promoted bishop.
I also made it like the horse is running, so we can feel that it's a fast moving piece.
I think the new one also fits better to the shape of shogi piece.

Design B certainly looks interesting, but since it's not centered on the piece it seems that the whole design is unbalanced. Meanwhile, design A is a bit better balanced: it's centered and both edges of the piece seem to be occupied (except for the bottom, where the horse's leg is still centered). Plus, design A is more similar to the Dragon than design B is.

So I think I prefer design A.
